How to merge PDF files
Merging PDFs means combining two or more PDF files into one document. The main things to check are file order, page orientation and whether the resulting document contains everything you expected.

Step 1: choose the PDFs
Start with the final versions of the files you want to combine. If two files have similar names, open them first and confirm you are using the correct copies. This avoids merging an old draft into an otherwise final document.
Step 2: put the files in order
File order becomes document order. A cover letter might come first, followed by the main report and then appendices. With eggPDF, reorder the selected files before running the merge. On smaller screens, use the available up/down controls rather than relying on drag-and-drop.
Step 3: merge and download

Open the merged file and check more than the first page. Confirm the last page, the boundary between each original PDF, page orientation and any obvious blank or duplicate pages. If a source file was wrong, fix the source list and merge again.
Does merging reduce PDF quality?
A page-level merge does not need to turn every page into an image. eggPDF's merge workflow combines PDF pages rather than intentionally rasterizing or recompressing the document content. The existing data in each source PDF still determines its underlying quality.
What if I only need a few pages?
Merging full files is not always the right operation. If you only need selected pages, extract those pages first or use an extract workflow that creates one new PDF from the pages you choose.
